Billy Ray Johnson

Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home at Marietta with Pastor Shane Norton officiating, assisted by David Scott and a eulogy by Kenneth Johnson. Interment in the Orr Cemetery, Orr will follow under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with honors provided by the Choctaw Honor Guard.Billy was born in Marietta on June 4, 1949, the son of Frank and Lavene Brokeshoulder Johnson. He passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, at his residence at the age of 69.Billy graduated from Marietta High School in 1967 and furthered his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and Bacone College in Muskogee. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Billy and Virginia Abshire were married in Tyler, Texas on July 11, 1983. An electrical contractor, Billy owned and operated Buckskin Electric in Ardmore. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and sampling barbecue and Thai food at various restaurants. Billy was also an avid OU fan. He was 15/16 Mississippi Choctaw and quite proud of his Native American heritage.Billy was also a member of the Marsden Baptist Church.Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Calvin Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Ronald Johnson; and nephew, Russell Johnson.Survivors include his wife, Virginia of the home; three sons, Derl Coffman of Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., Buddy Albin and wife Ann, of Denton, Texas, and Hal Fore and wife Terry, of Ardmore; two daughters, Diana Jackson and husband Wayne, of Marlow, and Debbie Lambert and husband Ray, of Addington; brother, Kenneth Johnson and wife Andrea of Durant; three sisters, Shirley Thompson and husband Edwin and Barbara Williams of Marietta and Rita Scott and husband Larry, of Ada; sister-in-law, Syble Lyle, of Ringling; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Casket bearers will be nephews, Spencer Davis, Ryan Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Jay Herschel, Jerome Morgan, Jason Lambert, and Josh Mars...
